Personal Care Skillshare

JUNE - Make marshmallows with Natasha!

WAS THE FIRST Wednesday OF EVERY MONTH at 19:00–21:00

Learn how to make hydrosols (flower waters) with the founder of Anarres Apothecary, Tracey TieF. The method she will be using is thousands of years old. It will allow you to create flower waters that can be used as perfumes, deodorants, facial toners, air fresheners, and aromatherapy sprays, and more, depending on which herb you use.

Make Fire Cider with Sammy!
As the days are getting shorter and the air is getting colder its the perfect time of year to whip up a batch of Fire Cider! This herbal folk remedy is a combination of kitchen herbs infused in apple cider vinegar. It is both a food and medicine that is helpful for bringing some warmth as the colder months are approaching, and can help support your body in fighting colds, and preventing them as the flu season draws nigh!

Tea will be provided. This is a Pay-What-You-Can event, and your donations keep this meet up alive.

Charcoal Toothpaste (date TBD)

We'll experiment with making a remineralizing, tooth whitening, fluoride-free charcoal based toothpaste using coconut oils, castile soap, sunflower seed oil, xylitol, salt, and activated bamboo charcoal, diatomaceous earth (food grade), essential oils of orange and peppermint, plus (food grade) Xanthan Gum.

Snacks, refreshments, purified water will be provided. Please do not bring any single use containers such as disposable coffee cups as we are a waste-free zone!

Samples may be provided. Please bring your own container (please no new plastic.)

This is a Pay-What-You-Can event, but there are expenses so a $10 donation is suggested.

Make It Natural...
As a grassroots organization, we want to share the joy of natural, homemade personal care products and grow healthy people, communities and habitats in the process.

Our dream is a global movement to de commodify the personal care industry, achieved by raising public awareness on the harms of conventional products, and by restoring the common knowledge, skills, values, community, ecology and technology that sustain household production.
