Wind Energy Under Attack Still!

When Ontarians conserve power, wind farms will be first to shut down

Despite its recent investment in wind energy, Ontario will periodically ask wind operators to turn off their turbines, leaving gas and nuclear operating.

The ECO wants to hear about your energy conservation experiences

Ontario's Environment Commissioner, Gord Miller, wants to learn about barriers and incentives you've experienced in conserving energy. Report your pleasure or frustration:

I articulated my personal and business effort as as a project and described it. Here's what I wrote in a moment of fury at the news:

I am nothing less than sickened by the news that wind turbines will be asked to shut down first when excess electricity is produced. You must know that this dooms wind generated power, which counts on getting paid for every kilowatt produced. It is a blatant insult and yet another handover to gas, coal and nuclear power. Ontario's back room deals are an outrage. Ontario's back handed support of renewable energy is nothing but an offensive public relations scam. I've gone over and above my part to reduce consumption and strive to ensure a future for my children - for all of us. In the end, Ontario's policies, supporting fossil fuel and nuclear generation, amount to murder. I hope you, too are counting.
