Oil: Apricot Kernel, Organic, Social Enterprise
Prunus armeniaca Cold Pressed from the kernel, refined, from Italy.
Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil is good for all skin types. It is very rich and nourishing, particularly in carotenoids known as vitamin A. Apricot oil or apricot kernel oil is pressed from the kernels of the Prunus armeniaca (apricot). Apricot kernels have an oil content of 40-50%. The oil is similar to almond oil and peach oil, both of which are also extracted from the kernels of the respective fruit. Wikipedia

The seed cake is also used separately to extract an essential oil, which contains Amygdalin - a colourless crystalline glucoside.
The oil is chiefly composed of oleic acid and linoleic acid, both of which are unsaturated fats.
Colour: Pale yellow to golden yellow liquid.
Aroma: Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil has very little scent characteristic of most carrier oils.
Common Uses: Apricot Kernel Carrier Oil can be used to treat dry skin conditions and eczema. According to James A. Duke, Ph.D., apricot kernel oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamins A, C and E. Len Price highlights the omega essential fatty acids. [Len Price with Ian Smith and Shirley Price, Carrier Oils for Aromatherapy & Massage (United Kingdom: Riverhead, 1999), 37.] Semra Turan and fellow scientists at Abant Izzet Baysal University in Turkey published a paper in the December 26, 2007 issue of the “Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry” that detailed the compositions of oils obtained from nine different varieties of apricots grown in the Malatya region of Turkey. The samples contained up to 70.83 percent oleic acid, 21.96 percent linoleic acid and smaller amounts of palmitic and stearic acids. Apricot kernel oil is used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat inflammatory skin disorders, often in combination with other botanical materials.
I use apricot kernel oil instead of the allergenic almond oil.
Consistency: Typical and Characteristic of Carrier Oils.
Absorption: Absorbs easily into the skin.
Shelf Life: Apricot Oil is slow to go rancid; users can expect a shelf life of 6 Months to 1 Year with proper storage conditions (cool, out of direct sunlight). Refrigeration after opening is recommended.
Notes: The semi-oily texture of Apricot Kernel Oil makes it a good choice for use in massage and massage oil blends. It somewhat resembles Sweet Almond Oil in its properties and consistency.
Cautions: None Known.
