Instructions:
Combine the contents of the jar with 8 cups of water. Cooking times are as follows:
Stovetop: Bring to a boil uncovered, then cover the pot and reduce the heat to medium-low. Let simmer for approximately 1 hour (or until the peas are tender).
Slow Cooker: Cook for 5-6 hours on high or 8-10 hours on low (or until the peas are tender).
Pressure Cooker: Cook for 15 minutes on high pressure. Allow pressure to release naturally.
Serving ideas:
Garnish: Fresh cilantro or parsley, chives and/or crispy beets
Blending: Use a hand blender and blend the soup contents to control the consistency and flavour intensity (the more you blend, the smoother and more flavourful each bite will be)
Serve with: Fresh or toasted bread/baguette, baked/fried extra-firm tofu cubes and/or croutons
