Bentonite clay, also known as Sodium Bentonite or Montmorillonite, is best known for its skin healing properties. When applied to the skin, it essentially absorbs toxins and dirt that get trapped in the sebum (oil) of the skin.
The clay originates from the mountainous Wyoming region the USA and comes directly from the earth. Its colouring can range from light grey to off-white with little to no odour.
It's filled with minerals and has a shelf life of 4-5 years.
Pure Bentonite clay is useful for oily skin because of its excellent oil absorption properties. Thought to remove acne-causing toxins from the skin and revitalize tired skin.
