History: This plant is one of the most commonly used in Madagascar, especially to relieve rheumatic pains. Fortifying and tonic, Katrafay is also traditionally used by women after giving birth.

Common Uses: Katrafay is one of the most commonly used healing plants in its home of Madagascar. The oil has a large proportion of anti-phlogistic sesquiterpene hydrocarbons. It is used for fibromyalgia, painful virus infections, muscle pain, fever and much more. Katrafay Essential Oil is viewed as an effective emollient plant oil that may have anti-inflammatory properties. It can be used as a tonic and anti-rheumatic. The oil has a high percentage of sesquiterpenes (67.5 percent), which makes it ideal as a fragrance fixative. This 3% dilution in jojoba makes a perfect perfume base - simply add a few drops of a top and a base note!
