We will be making liners out of old wool blankets with the option of buying a kit to make leather outer shells to protect your wool liner from wind and abrasion.

This is more than a mitten-making workshop though!

The leather-working and sewing techniques you will learn when you make your mittens are highly transferable to many other projects. With the same stitches, needles and thread you will find yourself able to mend and repair clothing or old ripped backpacks with ease, make leather tool wraps, reusable cloth bags, journals/notebooks, messenger bags, backpacks and more!

After learning these basic techniques for binding pieces of fabric or leather (or whatever you can get your needle through) together with thread, the only limit to what you can create, repair or modify is your imagination and ingenuity!
